Special:Upload doesn't retain information if title is wrong and then fixed (async url upload)
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • I am uploading a media via url with Special:Upload, compiling the form
  • The title has a problem with the selected name (contains colon), so the system gives me three choices:
    1. accept the change
    2. modify the name
    3. exit the upload
  • The system gives you a button to refresh the screen to see if the upload has worked
  • Hitting the button, the system revises the name to a valid one

What happens?:

When I choose the new valid name, Special:Upload doesn't retain any of the information I inputted (description, license, categories...)

What should have happened instead?:
The system should retain the information I inputted

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
