Description

There are 31 extensions in https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Category:MWStakeCommonUIRegisterSkinSlotComponents_extensions on MediaWiki.org. I could not find any documentation as to what this hook actually does and why, and it took me far more effort than it should have to even find the codebase it's defined in.

Ditto for the other MWStake hooks in https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Category:Extensions_using_unrecognized_hooks

You're right, it seems a bit tricky to even find the code!
