Description

This host died last night due to overheating, so it may need new thermal paste. The host is currently out of service so can be worked on any time.

Hey @Andrew we upon looking at this ticket, I'm guessing we are seeing some thermal issues on this server? We can check the thermal paste on it, but it's a relatively new server so that would be unlikely to be the issue. We can try to move the server into a different U within the same rack to see if that may help with the temperature? Let us know, thanks!

Sure, let's try moving it. You can do that at your convenience since the server doesn't have any workload on it.

I don't have a theory about why it overheated, only that it did :)

I am proceeding with moving the server physically. I will update this ticket once it's completed and updated in Netbox

The server has been physically moved from U 42 to 33. No other changes happened (such as CableID) also, powered on the unit. Let us know if additional configuration may be needed. Thank you!
