Short presentation: Growth community conversation with Latin America
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

User story & summary:

As an editor from Latin America, I want to learn about Growth features, so that I can better support new editors.
As the Growth team, I want to receive feedback from many different wikis/communities, so that we better understand the needs and interests of many different communities.

Presentation:

July 16th, 2024 @ 20 UTC

Outline:

  • Growth presentation:
    • Newcomer Homepage intro
    • Suggested Edits intro
    • Structured Tasks intro
      • Add a link
      • Add an image
    • Constructive Activation focus: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Growth/Annual_Plan_2024-2025
    • Questions:
      • Do you have any experience with "add an image" or "add a link"? / Anything you want to share about these existing structured tasks?
      • How can we ensure these tasks aren't frustrating for patrollers?
      • What NEW structured tasks would be most helpful to newcomers at your wikis? For example: adding references, copy editing (spelling + grammar), fixing Neutral Point of View issues, fixing "peacock" language, de-orphaning articles, etc.
  • Open discussion: What should we know about new editor needs at your wiki?
