Where the Contribute menu (T322740) is available (for example, in Albanian Wikipedia), it provides users with two tabs: "Contribute" (with access to tools to start new contributions) and "View Contributions" (the list of past contributions by the user).
Currently, the "Contribute" tab is always the default. Thus, users who regularly access "View contributions" as part of their workflow, have to always switch to the "View Contributions" tab. The table below illustrates the different views involved in this workflow:
Navigation menu | Contribute menu | View contributions |

Adjust the default destination
This ticket proposes to adjust the tab that the user navigates to by default to:
- If the user has contributions to show in the list of their contributions, the "View Contributions" tab will be shown as default.
- If the user has no contributions yet, the "Contribute" tab will be the default.
The "View Contributions tab" will be the default tab shown unless there are no contributions to list. In this way, users who have not contributed yet will discover the ways in which they can contribute (instead of an empty list of. their contributions)
Adjust the navigation menu option
With the above proposal, we may want to adjust the menu option. This ticket proposes to change the label to "Contributions" which is a more generic term that can encompass both "Contribute" and "View contributions". In this way, regardless of the default tab shown the destination seems clear.
