This task will track the racking, setup, and OS installation of frban1002

Hostname / Racking / Installation Details

Hostnames: frban1002
Racking Proposal: eqiad frack
Networking Setup: one interface connected to each frack switch for port bonding

all servers: 2x10G interfaces
frban1002: ports assigned to frack-fundraising VLAN

Partitioning/Raid: fr-tech-ops will handle RAID setup
OS Distro: fr-tech-ops will handle OS setup
Sub-team Technical Contact: Jeff Green / Dallas Wisehaupt

Receive in system on procurement task T369750 & in Coupa
Rack system with proposed racking plan (see above) & update Netbox (include all system info plus location, state of planned)
Run the Provision a server's network attributes Netbox script - Note that you must run the DNS and Provision cookbook after completing this step
Immediately run the sre.dns.netbox cookbook
Immediately run the sre.hosts.provision cookbook
Run the sre.hardware.upgrade-firmware cookbook
Hand off to FR-Tech for setup

@Dwisehaupt,

The fundraising hosts follow a different workflow than normal hosts, in that we typically don't reimage them and hand them off to your team. I'd like to update these task checklists to accurate reflect what your team needs from us. My understanding is we'll do all the steps up to but not including 'Update the operations/puppet repo' step, and instead hand it off to you for reimage at that time. Is that correct?

Please advise via comment and unassign yourself as task assignee so on-sites will process according to your update once systems arrive onsite.

@RobH Correct. That is our assumption. Once the host is racked, cabled, and all the basic provisioning of the hardware is complete then it can be transferred to us for install and configuration. I have updated the checklist for this task.
