global preferences for color is not working

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):
i want to set my color to automatic for all wikis but i'm unable to do that

  • i just set my global preference for color to automatic (special:GlobalPreferences)
  • then i opened huwiki (random)
  • it was in light mode

What happens?:
global preference for color was not working on huwiki

What should have happened instead?:
color should be set to automatic

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

Which projects are you experiencing this one? From memory dark mode isn't rolled out everywhere yet.

question: i set my global preference (special:globalpreferences) for color to automatic from meta. then i go to pawiki and enwiki and changed the color to light. i checked my global preferences on meta again and color setting is unchecked there and metawiki was in automatic mode. is it how global preference works or it should be like if i change color to light on one wiki and it should be light on all wikis.
