About widget: signal that there are missing labels when the accordion is collapsed
Open, MediumPublic

Description

following a suggestion from GrounderUK we could explore whether to signal that there is missing* content when one of the about widget accordions is collapsed.

for instance, could we display a ? or dashed circle, with a tooltip displayed on hover (or page load on mobile)? this is a very early proposal, and needs further evaluation and testing.

*something to consider is whether content can be considered "missing" if labels are optional.

Event Timeline

The absence of a label is apparent; it is the presence of other content that could have better visibility. I phrase it that way to avoid the apparent stigma of “missing”.

One possibility would be to change what is displayed in the accordion according to which field has focus for editing, either dynamically (distracting) or after an explicit “refresh” action… but then a simple menu item or radio button might be the more natural option. I think it’s only input labels that are variable in number and we could probably just treat them as a group.
