As part of MinT for Wiki Readers MVP (T359072) users can adjust the language pair for the translation at (a) the Confirm step (T359512) and (b) the translation options (T359829) available in the Translation view (T359801).
Currently, when adjusting the languages in the mentioned steps, the following issues are observed:
- Some languages are listed twice in the language selector list.
- It is possible to select the same language as source and target.
The example below illustrates how accessing the AutomaticTranslation special page on English Wikipedia, and searching for "Sushi" leads to the confirm step where changing the source language displays "English" repeated twice in the list, and selecting it results in the "English -> English" repeated language pair.
The expected result would be to:
- Have English listed just once in the language selector list.
- Automatically adjust the target language when the same was selected as source in order to avoid both source and target to be the same. If English is selected as source, the previous source will be set as target (if it is available, if not, another language can be selected)
