Investigation: Evaluate subrefs MobileFrontend compatibility
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Look at the read and edit modes in "mobile view". List any issues here and create subtasks to fix.

Subrefs in read mode

Reference previews and subreferences appear differently compared to web

  • Ref types (e.g., Book, News) are not displayed; instead, it always shows ‘Citation’.
  • A prefix (e.g., [1.1]) is added before additional details like page numbers

Subreferences are indented differently in the reference list

  • They appear below the main reference with a double tab indentation, which is inconsistent with the web view's single tab indentation

Subrefs in edit mode

Lack of space between the "extends" notification message and reference in the extends dialogue in edit mode

  • Minor styling issue

A related issue we still need to look into: when using VE section editing on mobile, we need to continue to support subrefs whose parent comes from another section. We also need to be able to reuse refs from elsewhere in the document.

Update: tested and this works!
