Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

Add {{#babel:mul}} to your user page or {{#babel:mul|de|en}} or whatever other language code
Go to an item page with the Minerva interface : https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1023867 or https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1023867?skin=minerva

What happens?:

There is a field for the description in the multilingual box.

What should have happened instead?:

The field description can't be recorded. So I guess it should not appear.

The field description can't be recorded. So I guess it should not appear.

What do you mean by "recorded" exactly? I am afraid I don't understand what you expect to happen instead. Which exact text is "the field description" exactly in your screenshot?

Are the steps to reproduce complete? Your screenshot looks like you clicked "Edit" but that's not part of your steps to replicate.

Also, the default values for labels don't appear if you use MinervaNeue skin.

This is a very bad news. Many people use their phone to browse and contribute to Wikidata, especially in non-Western countries. So I think we should not introduces such UX differences between mobile and desktop/laptop users.

@PAC2: Please provide a full link where to see your last screenshot. Also, which exact browser(s) have you tested, on which system(s)? Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback. I've switched my interface to English.

Go to https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1023867 and click "edit"

You can enter the description field. In the example above, I've entered "Hello, I can add a description".

Now if I try to save my contribution, I've got the following message : "Your change could not be published. You can try clicking the publish button again.".

Si basically, the description field for the multilingual box should be hidden.

I use Firefox version 125.3.0 with Android 9.
