Relocate servers in C8 to make room for new Network devices
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We received some of the new network devices (2 switches) and we are planning to start racking them and doing some configuration. For us to be able to that we will have to relocate some servers since we need to have both the old network devices and new devices in the rack. Below are the list of serves that we need to relocate to make space for the new network devices .
The servers we need to move first are frpig2002 and pay-lb2002

Proposed:
We can move frpig to U 21 and use ports 20 on the new switches.
We can move pay-lb2002 to U 15 and use ports 14 on the new switches.

We do have one extra spot in U 40 (can use port 39 on the new switches) for whatever server needs to move next.

once some of the older servers are decommed, we can make plans for the other two. (Or we can temporarily move them to another rack. but we'd just have to move it twice.)

@Dwisehaupt @Jgreen when do you think will be best for us to coordinate with you to relocate civi2002, frpig2002 and pay-lb2002?

@Papaul Any time is fine. pay-lb2002 is down due to hardware error (T374054). I have powered down civi2002 and frpig2002 so they are ready whenever.

@Jhancock.wm let tried to do this first thing tomorrow morning and like you said keep the same ports setup. Thanks

@Dwisehaupt civi2002 and frpig2002 relocation complete. I am checking pay-lb2002

@Dwisehaupt hello since we decommissioned frban2001 is it possible for you to downtime and power down pay-lb2001 for us tomorrow so we can move it where frban2001 was racked? Thanks

@Papaul All set. Powered down and set a downtime for 26 hours.

@Dwisehaupt I ran out of cycles yesterday and didn't get to this task. so sorry about that. Can you downtime it again? and I'll take care of it asap. top of my list.

@Dwisehaupt moved and powering up. Let me know if anything looks amiss.

I forgot to hit submit on my last update. pay-lb2001 was moved on Friday.

The two latest decons have left us with another 3U of space to relocate servers too. we should be ready to relocate frqueue2003 whenever.
