Per this conversation at en.ws, a changelog for certain colors (T360494) has resulted in some changes that have now propagated to the English Wikisource and users there have noted that it is making the proofreading process a little more difficult due to the visibility of the colors. Note that this change has not (yet) gotten to all Wikisource editions (e.g. it is not present at mul.ws).

As an aside: I have set a common.css file for myself which (I believe) resets the colors to their original tones: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/User:Duckmather/common.css . This is probably useful for other users in the meantime (each user can just create their own common.css file!) until there is a sitewide fix.
[fun factoid: the way I actually got those colors was I went to https://web.archive.org/web/20151010132324/https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:06-24-1920_-The_Story_of_the_Jones_County_Calf_Case.pdf and manually grabbed the colors from a screenshot.]
