Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Go to any wiki with EC deployed
  • Open an article, edit with VE, add a newline and a sentence; make sure that the beginning and the end of the sentence are on the same line.
  • Click Save to trigger the EC
  • The position indicator (this little triangle over the popup) appears at the middle of the sentence

{F57533733}

  • Click "Yes" -> the position indicator appears now at the end of the sentence

{F57533737}

  • Close the citations pop-up with X, the edit check pop-up appears again; the indicator stays at the end of a sentence
  • Click "No" -> the position indicator appears again in the middle

{F57533744}

  • Click on the back button [<] -> the position indicator appears again at the end.

What happens?:
Like described above, the position indicator (and with it the placement of pop-ups) jumps too much;

What should have happened instead?:
The indicator should stay always in the same place.

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
When the text is longer than one line, the position indicator is always at the end, regardless of what button do we press.
