This pre-task is designed for participants who do not have a Wikimedia user account or experience with the platform. The goal is to familiarize and introduce yourself with Wikimedia by creating a profile.
- Create a Wikimedia account:
- Go to this link to create an account on Meta-Wiki.
- Choose a username that does not include personal information, such as your real name or birthdate.
- Set up your user page:
- Once your account is created, write a brief message on your user page. Include a short introduction and your interests.
- You can find your user page by clicking on your username in the top right corner after logging in.
- Join the Wikimedia LGBT+ participants page:
- Visit the Wikimedia LGBT+ Page.
- On the Participants & Supporters page, sign on as a supporter or participant
- Explore Wikimedia projects:
- Familiarize yourself with the different Wikimedia projects by visiting Our Projects page.
- This will give you a better understanding of the tools and platforms you will be working with during the internship.
