Description

Hello Carolyn and Matthew,

I am Sirisha Kambam, designer and engineer from India. I am excited to be contributing to this project.

All required files for the microtask are in this folder. I am also attaching the Penpot file here for ease of access. Alt text is not added to the documentation currently due to time constraints but please let me know if it is required. AI has not been used in any stage of the task.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to learn a new tool.

Event Timeline

Hello,

I have found this plugin in Figma that can convert fig files to penpot files. I have not tested it yet as it is time intensive but am sharing it here as it might be useful for any intern selected or to the design team at Wikimedia. Hope it helps.

Thank you.

Hello @SirishaKambam thank you for your submission.

It was helpful to see the direct import, thank you for saving it in your file. It is possible to remove the background in the SVG by going into the icon and making the background fill transparent.

I noticed both in the direct import version, but also in the components that you created from scratch that there are some padding discrepancies vs. how the component is described on Codex and illustrated on Figma:

Could you share a bit more about how you thought through spacing for the components? Thank you.

Hello Carolyn,

The padding doesn't directly translate well from codex to penpot as figma does auto layout differently for variants and penpot does not have variants. I assigned flex layout to hug the contents of the button so as to not have too much variance between the variants. It does look different from the codex version. I shall revise this to the best of my ability and submit an updated version in the final submit. Thank you for your valuable feedback. I am enjoying learning Penpot.

Hello Carolyn,

Hope you and family are doing well! Here is my final submission for InfoChip component. I have corrected the padding issues and removed background for the imported icons. Thank you so much for your guidance about the background. I was drawing a blank there.

Documentation has been updated with a feedback and changelog tab. Kindly let me know if there is more I can do.

Thank you for your task. An intern has been selected for this project, so I am closing this ticket as 'resolved' as the application period has concluded.
