Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • go to a ramdom scn.wiki page like https://scn.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bot (every namespaces except SpecialPage)
  • hide Sidebar and index (from the left column) and aspect and instruments/toolbox (from the right column)

What happens?:
the left space is not aligned, it doesn't disappear well

What should have happened instead?:
check a special pages (for example LastEdit https://scn.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiciali:UltimeModifiche) and the alignment happen well, fitting the hole pages and screen size

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
I use Google Chrome, no extension, last stable version available (129.0.6668.101 official build)
the issue appear the same if i'm logged or not (from Incognito browsing also)

this is exactly the problem i've mentioned.
go to special page like last edited page and you'll find out
or also try to lock the right side bar instead of hiding and you will find out that the alignment is not the same

The description describes intentional behaviour. Some special pages do not have a restricted width but articles do so I am not clear exactly what the problem here is?

the problem is that imho it doesn't make sense, at least it should be the same for every special pages (and not only for the ns0).
the other strange thing is that by showing the panel on the right, the spacing is reduced without being aligned and not uniformly...

as you can clearly see, the page aligns completely to the left.

it is not actually like that, i just checked again also on enwiki:

image.png (2,305×1,050 px, 437 KB)

moreover, normal pages has the "vector-sticky-header" and some special pages (such as RecentChanges) don't. so when i scroll down everything disappear at the top... why these differences

as you can clearly see, the page aligns completely to the left.

Does this explain this behaviour?

The sticky header only appears in certain namespace. The menu varies based on pages and T329673 tracks enabling it in different places.
