Background
By making topical/campaign lists visible on the content translation dashboard where editors translate articles:
a) We can test whether this would increase the visibility/discovery of topical gaps curated by organizers and communities
b) We continue to see quality content is generated through translations.
NB: To provide clarity when referring to which types of lists, in the context of topics, events, campaigns, wiki projects, and other similar activities centered on editorial tasks, the team settled on the term Collections.
-Other suggestions were: Wiki lists, Topic lists, Priority topics, Community collections, Curated selections, Featured, Editorial picks, Editor's picks, Recommended, Trending
Initial Scoping (June-July, 2024) : strategize phase
| Considerations | Notes | PoC scope | Future Opportunities + beyond translation |
| 1.List Management | Lists are knowledge gap areas curated collaboratively by organizers/communities using different tools e.g. petscan, and wiki-data queries. | Translation collections available on campaign/event pages can be parsed and presented on the CX tool. | a) Other capabilities could include sharing, reusing, and tracking collections. b) There's also the aspect of private/personal lists vs public/collaborative lists on wiki. c) Lists are presented differently on meta/ campaign pages. |
| 2.Tasks | Type of contributions | Translation collections listed using article title, article link, QID, categories, etc. | Other use cases: creating new articles, adding images, adding info-boxes, adding references and citations, etc. |
| 3. Tool | Entry-points/ Discovery of lists | CX Mobile tool has the most updated dashboard + tools. | Other entry points: unified dashboard for translations on desktop, newcomer homepage, event extension page, apps |
