- Add to language-data (patch)
- Run src/util/ulsdata2json.php before adding (patch)
- Run src/util/ulsdata2json.php after adding
- Add to translatewiki configuration (patch 1, patch 2)
- Add assistant languages to mw-config/FallbackSettings.php (if needed)
- Deploy configuration to translatewiki
- Add an entry to LocalNames/LocalNamesEn.php in the CLDR extension (patch)
- Update jquery.uls in the ULS extension
- Deploy ULS to translatewiki
- Create the translatewiki language portal
- Make sure that the category for the language is not marked as disabled
- Update the translatewiki language portal to indicate that the language is enabled
- Add the requester (and possibly other relevant users) to the translators list on the portal
- Enter the autonym in the Wikimedia Portals project
- Test language search in UniversalLanguageSelector and fix the search index (patch)
