Springboarding from SDS 1.2.2 T368791, we found that procedures for involuntary removal of administrator rights (or "de-sysopping") are highly variable across different language editions of Wikipedia. Our research also indicates that difficulty in de-sysopping may affect the success rates for users seeking administrator rights. Additionally the new metrics produced as a part of said research project, gives us a rich new source of comparative metrics.
A comparative look at admin inflow and outflow policies (i.e. RFAs and desysopping), ideally publicly available, allows both the WMF and community members to understand the breadth of policies around gaining and losing administrator rights
