Event Timeline
Change #1106018 had a related patch set uploaded (by Dreamrimmer; author: Dreamrimmer):
[operations/mediawiki-config@master] Change license on ptwikinews to cc-by-4.0
If and ONLY IF for some reason this is not getting deployed soon then there are other Wikinews that would like to change their license too per https://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikinews:2024_Copyright_license_upgrade/other-Wikinews. But I do NOT want to delay anything.
If they (nl + ro) can't be added here then they will be added when the request for this https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_comment/Update_standard_license_for_Wikinews is ready (expected date February 1).
Thank you @DreamRimmer !
If it is not too much trouble to modify the patch then there are two other wikinews that would like to change to CC-BY-4.0:
Dutch Wikinews (nlwikinews) per https://nl.wikinews.org/w/index.php?title=Wikinieuws:Redactieruimte&oldid=158983#English_Wikinews_will_upgrade_its_license_to_CC-BY-4.0_-_will_you_join_us?_/_English_Wikinews_zal_zijn_licentie_upgraden_naar_CC-BY-4.0_-_doe_je_mee? (link does not work properly because of the "?")
Romanian WIkinews (rowikinews) per https://ro.wikinews.org/w/index.php?title=Wiki%C8%99tiri:Cafenea&oldid=38137#Vot_despre_schimbarea_licen%C8%9Bei_la_CC-BY-4.0
(I did not modify the title of the request because I do not know if patch can be modified)
Merry Christmas!
@MGA73: Merry Christmas to you too! I am tweaking the patch to include nlwikinews and rowikinews.
@DreamRimmer Are there any issues with this and the update of fr.wikinews? I think they were supposed to be updated this morning?
@MGA73: See log of IRC channel #wikimedia-operations on Libera Chat, and see https://sal.toolforge.org showing that no backports took place this UTC morning. See also https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Deployments for scheduling.
@Aklapper Thank you. I noticed that on https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Deployments&oldid=2256367#Thursday,_January_2 there were planned 4 updates.
Yeah, people planned to deploy them, but nobody was actually available to do the deploy. It's possible that someone will be available and schedule these for the UTC late backport window (in about 5 hours), otherwise it will get done January 6 since deploys aren't done on Fridays and weekends either.
This seems to have missed the UTC late backport window (probably because DreamRimmer who's been shepherding it isn't available at that timezone). Sorry for the delay everyone.
