Hi Gitlab admins,
Can you please help Esuvat Bomani reenroll in Multi-Factor Authentication on Gitlab? They are working from a new device that they can't authenticate from.
Thanks,

Hi,
please note that the Phabricator account https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/EBomani-WMF/ has zero connected authentication methods, so it's effectively unusable, and this request is likely related to some other (Phabricator) account.
Which exact LDAP account is this request about? https://ldap.toolforge.org/user/ebomani , I assume?
Per https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/user/profile/account/two_factor_authentication_troubleshooting.html#recovery-options-and-2fa-reset , Esuvat can either use a saved recovery code, or if Esuvat has an SSH key you can generate new recovery codes using SSH. Is one of them an option?
Hello,
Yes, that is correct, the phabricator account I use is Ebomani
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/EBomani/. I unfortunately did not get
to save the recovery codes but I just tried the SSH option and the newly
generated ones worked in helping me login!
Thank you for your help and hope you have a great day!
Esuvat
HI @Aklapper,
Esuvat confirmed they were able to login using SSH codes, so this task can be closed. Thanks for your help!

@EBomani-WMF: Glad you found a way! On an unrelated note, I am not sure what happened to your Phabricator account https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/EBomani-WMF/ as it has zero authentication providers - assuming that you are logged into Phabricator per your previous comment, please immediately connect your Phabricator account with your WMF SUL account and with your LDAP account, or risk losing access at any time.
The other option is to connect your other Phabricator account https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/EBomani/ with your WMF SUL account and with your LDAP account.
Thanks!
Absolutely, thanks for flagging that. Added TOTP 2FA auth to the EBomani
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/EBomani/ account on Phabricator since
that's the one I use.
Additionally, Is there a way to connect my EBomani and EBomani-WMF accounts
on Phabricator? I have been using EBomani since I joined but it seems the
one linked to all other platforms is EBomani-WMF. The way this happened is
that I joined as a contractor with the email ebomani-ctr@wikimedia.org and
made a Phabricator account with that but have since been converted to full
time and now my email is just ebomani@wikimedia.org. When I tried logging
back in to Phabricator after the conversion, it created the EBomani-WMF
account and now that is the one linked to my email. If we could somehow
unify these two so I don't lose all the history of tasks I worked on and
also to remove any confusion the double accounts bring, that would be
great. I appreciate any advice!

@EBomani: Please go to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/external/ and link your LDAP account https://ldap.toolforge.org/user/ebomani to your Phabricator account, and please also unlink your personal MediaWiki OAuth1 Account https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=User:EBomani and instead link your work MediaWiki OAuth1 Account https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=User:EBomani-WMF . Thanks a lot!
