Description

Proposal: bump the Grade C requirement from Firefox 49+ (released September 2016) to Firefox 53+ (released April 2017).

We would like to drop fallback code for browsers that don't support mask-image (T369536), and we're almost ready to. The only Grade C browsers that don't support mask-image are Firefox 49-52. If we increase the Grade C cutoff from FF 49 to FF 53, then all Grade C browsers will support mask-image and we'll be able to drop the fallback code for browsers that don't.

Are there any other benefits to doing this minor bump? it doesn't seem like T369536 is particularly urgent, so maybe we can wait on resolving T380576 as Volker points out.
