Wikistats has many outdated dependencies. As time passes, doing basic maintenance on it becomes harder and sometimes impossible. For example, volunteers are translating the Wikistats UI into other languages on translatewiki.net. These translations are committed to the repository directly. When a language is ready to be deployed, we have to build and publish Wikistats. In other cases, fixes to data representation have to be deployed urgently. An outdated set of dependencies complicates this.

Furthermore, Wikistats should use the same design language as the rest of Wikimedia, namely Codex. This epic will track work to perform a basic refresh on Wikistats. Points will be assigned retro-actively as this work is on the back portion of the back burner and not planned.
