Current Situation:

Switched to single branch repo strategy
There are left over branches
Docs might still reference branches

Goal:

Cleanup branch leftovers

Acceptance Criteria:

all branches but main and open pr branches are removed
branch protection rules updated
docs do not reference branches anymore
