Description

Now that we have completed the Community Updates module experiment, and shared results, we should end the experiment and prepare to scale this feature to more Wikipedias:
T384406: Community Updates module: Release to all Wikipedias with GrowthExperiments

Acceptance Criteria:

End the A/B Test on Pilot Wikis & clean up the community-updates-module variant.

  • On pilot wikis where the Community Updates module is enabled, it should be visible to all eligible volunteers accessing the Homepage.
  • On pilot wikis where the module is disabled, it should remain hidden unless re-enabled by an Admin.

Note that within this task, we should probably clean up the community-updates-module variant (assuming we do not want to A/B test this feature again anytime soon). @KStoller-WMF, could that assumption be confirmed, please?

Correct. There are no further plans to A/B test this feature again. We should clean up the community-updates-module variant. I've updated the acceptance criteria to make that clear.

Checked the specs on wmf.15 - works as expected.

  • On pilot wikis where the Community Updates module is enabled, it should be visible to all eligible volunteers accessing the Homepage.

Checked pilot wikis - es, ar, ccs, and fr wikis.

  • On pilot wikis where the module is disabled, it should remain hidden unless re-enabled by an Admin.

Seems to be true.
