Display event type in 'more details' modal
Closed, ResolvedPublic2 Estimated Story Points

Description

User story

As an organizer, I want my event types display in More Details, so that anyone who is interested can easily learn about the event types and then decide to learn more about it or join it as a result.

As a contributor, I want to know the event type, so that I can decide if I want to join it or learn more about it.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Given that a user is on the 'more details' modal,
    • And the organizer of the event has selected topics for the event,
      • There should be a new section under Location that is called "Event types"
        • Event types should be in this section
        • Event types should be alphabetically ordered
        • For icons for the event types: folderplaceholder

Visual example of the more details modal:

You can access it by clicking 'More details,' which is found in the event registration header

Questions to figure out for design include:

  • What icon is used to represent event types?
  • Where do we add event type to the more details modal?

Design notes:

  • Some events will have 1 event type. Some will have 2.

Change #1146130 had a related patch set uploaded (by Cmelo; author: Cmelo):

Just a note: the code implementation is done for this task, we are just waiting on the icon decision to review and merge it. @ifried @MHorsey-WMF @JFernandez-WMF

Thanks @cmelo, the icon usage is still up to discussion but hopefully it'll be resolved soon (will post on Slack soon so we can discuss).

Thanks for the patience here! We've arrived to a decision on which icon to use:

We will be using cdxIconFolderPlaceholder (which you can see in the full list of Codex icons) to represent Event type.

Question: is it intentional that the section is labelled "Event type" and not "Event types"?

Decision reached in T386275#10885819 and ticket has been updated.

This is working as expected and all AC met, sending to design sign off.
