Caption doesn't save after navigating away from the App

Description

NOTE: This happens both on the standard media insertion flow & add an image suggested edit

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Open Add an image
  • "Yes" on a suggestion
  • Start typing a caption and Alt text
  • Background the App and Look something up on Safari
  • Go back to the App

What happens?:

  • Caption and alt text drafts have been deleted, replaced with text "how does this image relate to the article" that must be manually deleted

What should have happened instead?:

  • Caption and alt text drafts are saved

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

7.7.2 (5001) iPhone 12Pro

Hi there, I am unable to find the Add an image section in the App while I have logged in too.
Can you help me to reproduce the bug so that I can work on it.

Hi @Valks2004, thanks for your interest in the task. In order to see the Add an Image option on the Explore feed, you need to be logged in with an account with 50+ edits in the same wiki.

This repros on device with iPhone 16 pro max running iOS 18.6.2, but not on the 16 pro max 18.6 simulator.
