Flow clobbers edits with same timestamp (edits missing from Contributions after conversion)
Open, Needs TriagePublicBUG REPORT

Description

This is not the only page that has this bug, but it seems to be very inconsistent (some pages do, some pages don't with no pattern I can see)

No, I don't expect this to be fixed before Flow undeploy, but it's so very strange that I felt it deserved reporting anyway.

Michael moved this task from Inbox to Triaged on the Growth-Team board.

I notice the same with these:

The Flow version is in the contributions, but the Wikitext version is missing. In theory, once Flow is undeployed, those will show up. But it undermines confidence in talk pages conversion (T377051, T332022) during this critical time, if users can't see these talk page. It also means edits are unable to access moderation tools and revision tools, given that Flow is clobbering the revision and thus presenting its limited read-only UI instead.

I've confirmed that the query Special:Contributions makes in production on mediawiki.org, does actually return them: https://quarry.wmcloud.org/query/98569

I've also confirmed also via mw-experimental that they show up when disabling all hooks in Flow/extension.json.

Krinkle renamed this task from Flow clobbers other edits with same timestamp from contributions in certain circumstances to Flow clobbers edits with same timestamp (edits missing from Contributions after conversion).Oct 29 2025, 7:57 AM
