Closed, ResolvedPublic2 Estimated Story Points

Description

NOTE: deploy survey May 27 to enwiki, the following week to eswiki, frwiki, jawiki

Background

Based on [T385501 [Spike] Decide how to build summary prototype for communities](https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T385501), we'd like to run a QuickSurvey to start a conversation with community members around moderation workflows for AI generated article summaries.

User story

"As an editor, I'm interested in how technologies like AI can shape the editing and reading experience on Wikipedia, and I'd like to give my input on that subject."

Stalled pending legal I believe @ovasileva

ovasileva updated the task description. (Show Details)

FYI this is still stalled. Is that intentional? My understanding is that T392496 needs to be in sign off before we can do that. Is that correct?

Update: Japanese, French, Spanish translation still pending. (English is ready)

ovasileva changed the task status from Stalled to In Progress.EditedMay 29 2025, 12:13 PM

We're now ready for the English deploy. I've updated the spreadsheet with the survey link and the survey is now live.

@KSarabia-WMF - can we proceed with this one on Monday and then do the remaining ones when we have translations (might be a day or two after this). Also - what's the easiest way to turn the surveys off? Should I set up a ticket for that? We have a set quota of responses we can take into qualtrics so turnaround might be a little short.

@ovasileva we are ready to go tomorrow. You can test the survey using the URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris?quicksurvey=Web%20simple%20summaries%20survey
When you have given us the green light we can bump the sampling rate from 0 to 20%.

@KSarabia-WMF please prepare the deploy patch at earliest convenience which should:

  • restrict survey to logged in users only
  • bump sample to 20%.

When Olga has given green light we can deploy tomorrow (ideally in the 1pm PST deploy window)

  1. @ovasileva can you please verify we are getting survey responses?
  2. @ovasileva do we need a follow up ticket for next sprint for other languages?
ovasileva changed the task status from In Progress to Open.Jun 4 2025, 4:14 PM

Confirming that responses are coming in. Will set up ticket to turn survey off as well.
