Description

NOTE: This is a task for the mechanics of doing the release. Please do not add tasks that you believe should block the release to this task. Instead, please add them to the MW-1.44-release project. By definition, tasks in that project are blockers to the release.

This is roughly due to be released in June 2025.

@Atieno: Most of the subtasks do not block the process of releasing MW 1.44.0 so I'm going to remove them.
Subtasks should technically block releasing MW 1.44.0 only, for the rest there is https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/tag/mw-1.44-release/ .
