Reccomend closing as invalid.
Firstly, there is a rule on Tech News of not posting essentially the same thing multiple times.
Secondly, the audience of Tech News are wiki users, which can not use this in gadgets (T340477) or templates (T355242) and have no use for this yet. There is a developer newsletter, use that instead.
Thirdly, wiki users are not your testers. Hire a QA person since you need this. WMF having a massive reserve fund and asking for testing is out of order.

You're right that this may not be needed. This was filed really as a placeholder as part of planning for the 2.0 release. The reason we communicated the upcoming rc.1 release in T390980 and T390982 was because there were potentially relevant breaking and visual changes for editors. I'm going to keep it open until we confirm nothing else needs to be announced, but likely it will be declined.

I want to clarify that there is no ask here that wiki users test these changes. We've done extensive testing already as part of T386298. Communication as part of Tech/News is purely informative.

I don't think this is needed. We're already communicating a lot on Wikitech-l and the 2.0.0 release itself won't include any changes.
