Request for coivrt-en mailing list
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

  • Requested name of the mailing list (ending in @lists.wikimedia.org): coivrt-en@lists.wikimedia.org
  • Reasoning/explanation of purpose: A mailing list for members of the English Wikipedia's COIVRT team can help coordinate responses to tickets and figure out appropriate responses etc. The way VRT is set up, it's kind of hard to communicate with others and get a feel for what other members are feeling. Additionally, there are members of the current functionaries list that do not have access to the VRT queue. Consensus for such a list has been established on the functionaries-en@lists.wikimedia.org mailing list. It's been suggested that such a list is non-archiving, in lieu of the CU and OS lists. The list will discuss NDA'd content, so it should be private.
  • Initial list administrator's email address: User:Moneytrees
  • Secondary list administrator's email address: User:Sdrqaz (Given the private nature of the list, I have sent our email addresses to Ladsgroup on IRC)
  • Description: COIVRT mailing list (en-wiki)

Thank you.

Event Timeline

Hi, one thing: Renaming a mailing list in mm3 is not really possible. We are trying to follow https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Standardization, can you suggest a more compliant name with that standard?

If "Other groups that would prefer to use lists to co-ordinate discussion can also use a top level name in a style that best matches their needs" does not apply to us, then I assume that the compliant name would be "wikipedia-en-coivrt"?

For onlookers unfamiliar with COIVRT, it refers to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:COIVRT .

wikipedia-en-coivrt@lists.wikimedia.org would seem to be the appropriate name based on that proposed standard.
