@Superzerocool, the Moderator tools team plans to work on the deployment very soon. However, we are still missing a few elements from the Community side, listed in the task description:

  • 8 interface translations are still missing
  • Automoderador user page (it can be created even if the page says 'the account is not registered")
  • Automoderador fase positives report page (can be a sub-page of Usuario:Automoderador)

Thank you! :)

Hello,

  • About string, when I opened this ticket, all the strings were translated, but there was an update to the extension, so I have checked some strings, but there are some still missing. I try to end this week (I have limited time for non-work tasks).
  • I'll create it (it seems a possible improvement to docs: "don't create the account, just create the page")
  • Ok, I'll create today or tomorrow :)

@Trizek-WMF hi again, please check if all strings are translated in translatewiki.

I'll create the Automoderator page on Spanish Wikipedia today. I have only one question: Our policy about bot accounts states, "A bot needs a human controller." How can we manage this? Because this tool seems to be a user, but it isn't a valid account, we need to write to someone to communicate on the page. I understand that the message on the user page seems to be sufficient to elaborate on this idea, but anyway, it's still a user page, so there is some confusion about this (a tool working on a user page). In the RfC voting, some votes mention this idea...

@Superzerocool, in Community Configuration (example), it is possible to decide that Automoderator has the bot flag (or makes minor edits).

I think we can be creative for the rest, as Automoderator is a new service (and is not a bot). Most wikis we work with aren't bothered by the absence of a bot flag. As you said, the user page seems to be enough for other communities. Some bots are interwiki and rely on one volunteer for their maintenance. Here, Automoderator is under the supervision of a WMF team, and Administrators have the power to configure it (and stop it) anytime. Is this explained on the user page not enough?

@Trizek-WMF sure, I can make it possible with your ideas :). I'll ping you when the pages are created.

Oh God, 12 days later, but we have an Automoderator page 🎉... @Trizek-WMF, are all Community tasks done?

12 days is good. It could have been 12 years! ;)

Everything looks fine, I'll ask for a start date for Automoderator at Spanish Wikipedia!

Here is the message to the Community about activation. Next Monday (May 26) will be the first day.

Hello, I activated Automoderator on Spanish Wikipedia on Saturday morning, and it began to revert vandalism. I used this configuration to start the tests, and it found around 100 edits/day to revert, which seems too low compared to SeroBOT, but it could be the use of a conservative option. I will follow the tests for some days and try to compare some situations about SeroBOT and Automoderator. Just to ask, which model is using Automoderador?

AutoModerator uses the revert risk language-agnostic model. It can also use the multilingual revert risk model, but we haven't tested it on any Wiki. I would suggest to wait a few days and, if you are not satisfied with the number of reverts, decreasing the threshold little by little to see if the false positive rate does not increase by a lot.

It looks like automoderator is on its merry way (currently at ~1700 reverts) now that the threshold has been lowered. Marking as resolved. Please reopened if you believe this is in error.
