the language selector located to the right of the page name isn't functional at all in the editing mode.

user story

i'd like to access interlanguage links without switching to the reading mode, as i have to do so very often and it's a tiring process :3

  • language links are available in the editing mode via the language selector

It's working in Wikitext 2017 and VisualEditor, but not in the regular 2010 Wikitext editor

while editing on azwiki, i often use other wikipedias (primarily english) as a source and i might need to check what's written on those sites quite a few times while editing. it's a tiring process to go back to the reading mode every time, as i said above :3

It's working in Wikitext 2017 and VisualEditor, but not in the regular 2010 Wikitext editor

an interesting thing i've noticed and probably not a coincidence is that if the visual editor (and the 2017 wikitext editor) is enabled, the page isn't "reloaded" when the edit button is clicked. while using the 2010 editor, however, as the url changes, i experience a full navigation, unlike the spa-like experience on the visual editor.

Previously reported at T47687: no language links shown in edit mode, which mentioned that the interlanguage links is shown while previewing a page, but not on merely editing.
