It can display a user's local total edits with simple {{Special:Editcount/Username/total}}.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
{{Special:Editcount/Username}} counts total global edits instead of local one. You have to add the number of edits in all namespaces if you want to count one's total local edits.
