Description

Please add the language code qxp (Puno Quechua Q7260479) to the list of language codes supported for monolingual text values. ISO 639-3: qxp, IETF language tag: qxp.

I temporary used the code qu-x-Q7260479 (Puno Quechua) to create Lexemes (e.g., L347032), see a list of lexemes here.

Currently, the language code qu-x-Q7260479 cannot be used to add "usage examples" (P5831) to Lexemes or Forms (e.g., L1448326). Last but not least, the language code can help to describe the value of the "native label" property for the Puno Quechua item (Q7260479).

I take it you would then also like to use the qxp language code for Lexemes, and not just for monolingual text values?

Yes, that is right! It would be very handy.

@Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE I think adding the code to CLDR works for Lexeme too. I am not familiar with Lexeme but did a short test on https://test.wikidata.org/wiki/Lexeme:L4831 . Could you check with this test lexeme pls?

Probably yes, I just wanted to clarify what the request was :)

Hi @Raymond, hi @Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE,
If it helps I can past here some screenshots:

  • When creating a lexeme:

Thanks. Testing on test.wikidata.org is too early, not yet deployed, earliest next week. Sorry for misleading you. Could you test on a Lexeme on https://wikidata.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Lexeme:L57548 pls?

It is working good, except when creating a new lexeme.
Looking forward to next week! Thanks!
