Background

We're making improvements to tabs on both Android and iOS, and some data would be helpful to understand where we should focus our efforts.

Questions

ANDROID

  • What is the usage of the "new tab" option from the overview on Android
    • What % of all new tabs opened on Android come from the "new tab" option in the tabs overview?
    • What % of tab users use the "new tab" option in the tabs overview on Android?

iOS Notifications: We do not currently track user interaction with Notification settings, will need to instrument if we want to get this metric.

  • 38.4% of Tab uniques use "new tab" option in the tabs overview
  • 0.05% of Tab uniques are using the "long press" > open in new tab
  • 8.9% of all tab overview events (impressions) to open the tab overview resulted had "new tab" events

Save Tabs
-0.4% of all tab uniques have used "Save all tabs"
