Background

The apps team is making updates to the "Create an account" and "log in" screens. To improve the user experience, there are several updates we want to make to the form.

Requirements

• Change copy for: Email address (optional)" to "Email address (recommended)"
• Add subtext below form
  • Below user name field: "Your username is public and cannot be made private later."
  • Below email field "Email is required to recover your account if you lose your password."
  • Below password, note: "Password must be at least 8 characters." (Nice-to-have: display as automatic validation similar to username)
• After email is entered, display confirmation: "Please look for an email from us to verify your address."
