This task involves the work of enabling people to edit a specific span of text/content without needing to load/open the full document editor.
This task builds on a long history of initiatives [i] meant to increase the ease and speed with which people can edit, especially while doing so on a mobile device where space is more scarce and attention is more heavily competed for.
Story
It ought to be easier to edit smaller/more "narrowly-scoped" portions of an article, especially on mobile, so that you A) do not need to spend unnecessary time waiting for the editing interface to load content you have no intention of editing and B) can more quickly begin making the change you're intending to.
