This task involves the work of documenting approaches for how we might estimate intention of new(er) volunteers [i] using data we're already logging.
This task emerged in response to us – volunteers and staff – seeking to estimate how many people/dits Tone Check has the potential to affect.
Story
As someone who is wanting to assess the potential upsides/downsides of Tone Check, I would like to know the proportion of people it has the potential to reach who are publishing edits in good / bad faith, so that I can develop a point of view on whether its potential for positive impact (causing new(er) volunteers acting in good faith to publish constructive edits) outweighs the risks/uncertainties it introduces.
