User tracking in VE
We want to understand how users perceive and interact with the Sub-referencing feature by collecting quantitative data. Tracking user behavior helps us get signals about how users are using the feature and where they might be encountering friction. These signals, combined with qualitative feedback from user testing sessions, will inform the next iteration of improvements.
We will use two approaches for this:
- Capture specific actions, e.g. button clicks and important events
- Analysing user flows and paths in sessions: the sequence of actions users take during an editing session within the sub-ref experience. Allowing us to identify typical behaviors, discover unexpected flows, and frictions/drop offs.
Steps
- T396734: Add more simple logging for subref related events
- T396735: Aggregate success/abort metrics for subrefs in Superset
