Low contrast in edit highlights when using "Black" app theme
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Open the app in the dark theme, visit a diff view showing an edit with small changes (e.g., single-character additions or deletions).

Example edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=YCbCr&diff=1293533710&oldid=1285646599&variant=en

What happens?:
The colors used to highlight added or removed text in the diff view (especially on small edits) have insufficient contrast against the black background.

This makes it difficult to visually detect the changes, especially when quickly scanning the page.

What should have happened instead?:
The visual difference in changed lines should be easily noticeable, including for single-character edits.

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
Wikipedia Android app 2.7.50532-r-2025-05-20
Device: Samsung SM-S911U (SDK: 35)

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
Applies specifically to the Black theme (not just Dark theme).
