One possible entry-point for the Image Browsing prototype might be as a replacement or add-on to MultimediaViewer itself. MMV is a large and complex feature and any extensive re-write of that code is out-of-scope for the purpose of WE3.1.3. But we could explore "intercepting" any interactions on the page that would normally launch MMV in order to show this alternate prototype instead.

If we were to do this, the prototype should implement key features from MMV, or else users may be frustrated that they aren't able to access functionality they are expecting.

Acceptance criteria

• Interactions which would normally trigger MMV are "intercepted" and the Image Browsing feature is loaded instead, for participating users (anon users who have been segmented into the "experiment" group in an A/B test, as well as anyone who has opted in to see this feature via URL params or user prefs).
• Non-participating users have no change in their experience and no noticeable performance impact
