Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Please add the language code OKA to the list of language codes supported for monolingual text values.

Okanagan is classified as Definitely Endangered by the UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger. It has 50 L1 speakers and 75 L2 speakers

However it has an active language revival movement in the Okanagan valley and Spokane Washington.

Usage example:

I intended this as an application to be able to add Okanagan labels to items. How would I do the application? The requirements for that are less than having its own Wikipedia right?

Minus CLDR because "oka" is part of CLDR release already. Code works therefore for monolingual text values already.

Anytime i attempt to add a Oka label to Lake Country (Q1711455) i get the following error: "Unable to update entity: The supplied language code "oka" was not recognized." And than a second error which says "Unable to update entity: {}" pops up shortly after

This ticket is for "support for monolingual text values." And this works already. Adding labels in this language needs more/other work.

@Immanuelle: In this case I suggest you rephrase the task.

Raymond claimed this task.

monolingual text in OKA works already.
