In T400103, we will be preparing a proposal for evaluating the impact of Reference Check at English Wikipedia, based on previous research (T342930) and input from volunteers.

This task involves the work of defining:

• How we communicate this proposal in a way that is clear and understandable
• What historical context this proposal is grounded in
• Where (on-/off-wiki) we will share this proposal
• What input we are seeking in sharing this proposal
• Etc.

Stories

• As an experienced volunteer who has previously expressed an interest in Reference Check being made available at en.wiki, I'd value knowing how the WMF Team responsible for making this happen is proposing this be done, so that I can offer feedback before the proposal is distributed widely
• As an experienced volunteer who is interested in interventions that affect newcomer editing experiences (and in turn, the workloads of patrollers/reviewers), I would value knowing there is a proposal being considered for enabling Reference Check so that I can ensure the feature is being evaluated using criteria that I think is sufficient to draw meaningful conclusions with.
