Background goal

This task is to conduct some lightweight usability tests with newcomers to learn if people find the new flow proposed in T399675: Paste Check: Clarify resolution path/experience intuitive and get a sense for how effective it is in helping them to understand when and why it's not advisable to paste content into Wikipedia.

Decision(s) to be made

This test is an effort to make the following decision(s)...

  • What (if any) adjustments will we make to the Paste Check UX (broadly defined) before evaluating the impact of the experience through a controlled experiment (T399669)?

Per yesterday's offline discussion with @bmartinezcalvo + @nayoub, I'm assigning this task over to Bárbara to take a first pass at drafting the Paste Check test protocol.

Next steps

  • 1. Editing Engineer: create prototype that suppresses the "log in / create account" edit notice that appears when people tap edit who are not logged in
  • 2. @bmartinezcalvo: re-run desktop usability test once "1." is done with ~5 people
  • 3. @bmartinezcalvo: run mobile usability test once "1." is done with ~5 people
