Background goal
Tone Check could include other checks, e.g. a Paste Check could be displayed when pasting text after the sentence where the tone issue is included. We need to define how these multiple checks will behave in the Recheck mode being implemented in T397984.
Possible solution
- When a Tone Check enters “Recheck” mode, any other checks inside the same text block (e.g., Paste Check) will be hidden.
- Only the blue Recheck borders are shown in the text, keeping the user focused on reviewing the tone.
- Other checks non affected by the Revise tone, will continue being visible.
- If, while revising text inside the blue Recheck borders, the user removes the part of the text that triggered another check (for example, pasted content that caused a Paste Check), that second check will automatically disappear because its issue no longer exists.
- If the tone issues are resolved, the Tone Check will disappear, and any checks that were hidden will become visible again.
Open question
- Would it be possible to sequence the Edit Checks one after the other in these specific conflicting scenarios? This way, in this scenario, we could first let users revise the tone and then display the Paste Check once the tone is solved.
