Research Showcase
Working with Debra and Diego to finalize the showcase for September. We will have speakers from the foundation who are working on readers/search research.

Conference Travel

• Isaac and Diego are attending ACL this week.
• I attended IC2S2 last week and am finishing up my trip report. Also, did a few email follow-ups from the conference.
• Discussed future travel with Miriam. Need to discuss this with Debra next week.

Research Fund

• worked with Davit to organize the Meta pages related to the fund
• Set up meetings with new cohort of grantees whose projects are starting during the summer.
• Approved and closed a couple of grants from last year.
• Confirmed with Leila and Mako and her will hold a retro for the last round during Wikimania

Other smaller tasks

• Support for Wikimania Research meetup (very exciting!)
• Did some coordination for the EU DSA work

Research Showcase
Did some more coordination for September and future months. We will hold a team session next Tuesday to coordinate on the high-level theme for the September showcase.

Conference Travel
Prioritization for conferences and attendance is complete. Need to share with Leila for her review.

Wiki Workshop

• Announced final dates to the team and will send out emails to communities early next week.
• Finalized dates for the Research Track work (thanks to Martin for helping!)

Proposal for Fellows Program is ready.

October speakers are almost fully confirmed (need to verify order of presentations with them).

Wiki Workshop
Officially closed out the 2025 edition. Website is now updated and we are ready to go for 2026 :)

Fellows Program
Presented the proposal to the team and received some feedback which I started iterating on.

Held a couple of office hours.
Picked up the status updates for the Research Fund- closing out completed grants and receiving updates from ongoing ones.

Continued iterating on feedback, I should be done by next Monday. My plan is to re-share the updated proposal and put together a new draft which is to be shared publicly based on this.

Research Showcase
We had a team meeting on Tuesday to do some mutual work on the structure of the September showcase.
Had some early discussions with Leila about January showcase- will discuss with coordination team next week.

Other work
I’m working on updating the Research:Projects due to a bug that's causing wrong dates to be listed as the completion dates of projects. I will likely update the categories and replace the current DPL-based listing.
Started reviewing DSA MVP feedback to finalize an updated process for research requests.

Leila added some feedback for me but I didn't get to address everything this week.

Research Showcase
Met with the coordination team to discuss the December showcase. We have two invitees for a panel and we are still figuring out the third panelist.

DSA MVP
Put together a process for private data requests and iterated with the team working on the MVP. This process can be viewed in our private document

WP 25th Birthday
Met with the comms team to discuss the Ambassador work and how we can involve researchers and scholars as part of that. See this internal doc for more info.
Met with Jerome and Leila to start planning the Research @ Wikimania event. See this internal doc for details on the event planning.

Supported CR with reviewing a grant application for a research-related event.

Made changes based on Leila's second round of reviews. I think the proposal is now ready to be shared with the team and made public. I'll await Leila's sign-off for this.

Research Showcase
We continued working on the December showcase this week.
The presentation for the September showcase is being finalized and I have organized the logistics for the showcase.

DSA MVP
Continued iterating on the process for private data requests.

WP 25th Birthday
Worked on identifying potential researchers who can be part of the ambassadors program.
Worked on the Research @ Wikimania open call. Jerome put together a draft call and I added some feedback, as well as drafted some key design elements we should follow for the entire event.
