Sandra suggested that:
I’d recommend removing the email update option for anyone who has ever donated via PayPal, not just exclusive PayPal donors. Since any past PayPal transaction could still be tied to the original email, we don’t want to trigger dedupe issues or mismatched receipts if the primary email is updated inconsistently.

Confirmed with Sandra on Aug20, only active recurring paypal matter.

Note that as we are enabling a link to the comms pref centre via Acoustic footers too, we may need to explore how to mitigate a poor experience for paypal donors who receive these acoustic emails. It may be that a disclaimer would be the best solution for these donors, as otherwise it would add complex segmentation to every acoustic send. cc: @ppenloglou

show edit if not donate with paypal, and hide edit if donate with paypal, also show a hint message to let donor know whey edit email is not an option

@AnnWF can you confirm how this will apply to the donor portal please? what will the supporter flow be if they attempt to change their email address via the portal

For active recurring PayPal donor. They will not see edit email button but see a hint in epc below as image above. For donor have no active recurring email. They will see edit button and after they update email and click submit. We will trigger a verification email to their new email address, and log this email send activity to their civi contact. If they confirm their email change. We will update the new email to primary email and set as email preference type make the old one non primary and add to suppression list, so in the future they will receive email from new one the old one will never get email from wiki.
